CONDITIONS
SCI FI TRANSFORMERS’ COMPETITION
PARTICIPATION
1.	This competition is conducted by TV1 General Entertainment Partnership, ABN 19 094 282 021, of Building 208, Lang Road, The Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park NSW 2021 (“Promoter”).
2.	Entry to the Competition constitutes acceptance of these conditions. All entry instructions and prize information published by the Promoter form part of these conditions.
3.	The Competition is only open to “Eligible Entrants”, being individuals who: (i) are residents of Australia aged 18 years or older; (ii) hold a valid licence to drive manual motor cars in Australia; (iii) are not employees of the Promoter or any of its related corporations or any of their agencies associated with the Competition; and (iv) are not a spouse, defacto spouse, parent, child or sibling (whether natural or by adoption) of such an employee.
4.	Competition entry commences at 12.01 am on Sunday 17 June 2007 and closes at 11.59pm on Sunday 1 July 2007  ("Entry Period"). All times and dates are times and dates in Sydney, which may be AEST or AEDT depending on the date. 
ENTRY TO COMPETITION 
5.	Subject to the other provisions of this condition, entry is open only to a person who, at the time of entering:
(i)	has a valid subscription ("Subscription") to a television service licensed to carry TV1 (“Subscriber”); or
(ii)	is a friend or relative of a Subscriber living in the same household as a Subscriber who is authorised by that Subscriber, in accordance with these conditions, to enter the Competition (“Associate”).
A Subscriber who authorises an Associate to enter the Competition, may not enter the Competition themselves. A Subscriber: (a) may only authorise a maximum of one Associate to enter the Competition; and (b) may not authorise an Associate to enter the Competition after the Subscriber has entered. 
6.	An Eligible Entrant may submit no more than one internet entry on any one day. 
7.	Subject to the other conditions: (i) a maximum of one entry will be accepted per household; and (ii) no more than one entry will be accepted that states the same e-mail address for the entrant.
8.	Entry can only be made by internet.  To enter, an entrant must use a compatible browser to visit www.scifitv.com.au and follow the directions there. The entrant must complete an electronic entry form and provide all details requested on the form, including first and last names, postal address and e-mail address.
When completing the electronic entry form, each Eligible Entrant must: (a) if entering as a Subscriber, provide details of their own Subscription as requested; or (b) if entering as an Associate, provide details of the Subscription of the authorising Subscriber as requested.
9.	All entrants must ensure that their entries are received by the Promoter during the Entry Period. The Promoter takes no responsibility for late or misdirected entries or for any delays or failures in any telecommunications service or equipment. 
10.	All entries to the Competition may be subject to verification by the Promoter. An entrant MUST, within 7 days of being asked, at the Promoter's cost allow the Promoter to inspect and copy any documents the Promoter may request establishing eligibility to enter or win, including evidence of: (i) being a Subscriber or having been authorised to enter by a Subscriber; (ii) residence; or (iii) identity. 
11.	The Promoter may, at its absolute discretion, declare any or all entries made by an entrant invalid if the entrant: (i) fails to establish their entitlement to enter the Competition to the Promoter's satisfaction; or (ii) fails to produce items as required by condition 10 or produces items that are illegible, stolen, forged, reconstructed, altered, incomplete or tampered with in any way; or (iii) tampers with the entry process or benefits from such tampering; or (iv) submits an entry which in the Promoter's opinion is not in accordance with these conditions. 
12.	An entry by more than one person (ie a joint entry) is invalid.
13.	All entries made by post become the property of the Promoter.
14.	Any costs associated with accessing the Competition Website are the responsibility of the person seeking access and are dependent on the internet service provider used. 
15.	Eligible Entrants must make their internet entries manually using an internet browser. The Promoter may reject internet entries if it reasonably forms the opinion that they have been entered using automated entry means or by use of a competition entry service.
DRAW AND PRIZES
16.	The draw will be held at 3pm on Monday July 2 at Dialect Services, Level 9, 190 George St Sydney NSW 2000. 
17.	The Eligible Entrant who submitted the first valid entry drawn will win a 3 night trip for 2 to the V8 Super Challenge in Melbourne (Major Prize). The Major Prize is valued at a maximum of $7,756.60 and is described in further detail below.
18.	The Eligible Entrants who submitted the next 40 valid entries drawn will each win a runner up prize valued at $76.60. Each runner up prize comprises one of each of the following:
(a)	Double in-season movie tickets to Transformers. Tickets issued subject to terms and conditions on the back of the ticket;
(b)	Movie Merchandise Pen; 
(c)	Movie T-shirt; and
(d)	Poster.
19.	The total value of all prizes is $10,820.60. 
20.	All prizes are valued as at May 15, 2007. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any variations in prize values. 
21.	If any prize (or part of a prize) is unavailable for any reason, the Promoter will, in its absolute discretion, substitute alternative goods or services of no lesser retail value and/or specification, subject to the approval of the authorities that have issued permits for the conduct of the Competition. The Promoter accepts no other liability or responsibility for any loss incurred by a winner or any other party if any prize (or part of a prize) is unavailable for any reason.
22.	Rights to receive prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
MAJOR PRIZE 
23.	The Major Prize comprises, for its winner and, subject to condition 26, one guest of his/her choice:
(i)	return economy flights to Melbourne Airport from the Australian State or Territory capital city nearest to the winner's place of residence (except where that city is Melbourne) and, if flights are provided, return ground transfers between Melbourne Airport and the Accommodation;
(ii)	3 nights twin share accommodation at a 4 star hotel in or near Melbourne ("Accommodation"); 
(iii)	breakfast on each day of the trip;
(iv)	A total of 2 tickets to participate in a V8 Super Challenge Rally experience at Calder Park Raceway, Melbourne on one of the days of the trip (V8 Super Challenge); 
(v)	return ground transfers between the Accommodation and the V8 Super Challenge.
24.	Further details of the V8 Super Challenge are available at www.adrenalin.com.au. 
25.	The Major Prize will be arranged by the Promoter. The winner of the Major Prize must give at least 30 days notice of proposed commencement of travel. All travel must be completed no later than 2/7/08 and the trip may not be booked over any period that includes a public holiday in any Australian State or Territory. The Major Prize is subject to availability at the time of booking and, if any component of the Major Prize is unavailable on the dates proposed by the winner, the Promoter will consult with the winner to determine alternative, dates on which the Major Prize will be booked.
26.	All aspects of the Major Prize (including travel and accommodation) are for the winner and one guest travelling together. The winner of the Major Prize is free to select any person aged 18 years or older as a guest, provided that: 
(i)	the Promoter may require the guest to confirm in writing that they agree to comply with the provisions of these conditions relating to guests (see condition 38); and
(ii)	in order to participate in the V8 Super Challenge, the guest must: (a) hold a valid licence to drive manual motor cars in Australia; (b) meet Calder raceway requirements.
27.	Once tickets have been arranged by the Promoter, changes to the travel or accommodation arrangements can not be made/are at the expense of the Major Prize winner.
28.	All components of the Major Prize must be taken together as a single trip to be booked by the Promoter. Any part of the Major Prize that is not taken for any reason is forfeited.
29.	The Major Prize does not (except as expressly stated) include: (i) any transport between a traveller's residence and the departure airport (if flights are provided) or Accommodation (if flights are not provided); (ii) any overnight accommodation while travelling to the departure airport or destination; (iii) any other travel or accommodation; (iv) any meals; (v) any incidental hotel charges (such as mini-bar charges, telephone calls, in house movies, food and beverages); (vi) any spending money; (vii) any insurance (such as travel or health cover); (viii) any vaccinations or other medical or health related services; (ix) any other ancillary costs which may be incurred by the winner or his/her guest in relation to the Major Prize. 
30.	The Major Prize cannot be exchanged for other travel or accommodation at other destinations. 
31.	In order to participate in the V8 Super Challenge, the winner and any guest must: (i) be reasonably physically fit and disclose all pre-existing health conditions on request; (ii) weigh no more than 110kg and be no more than 190cm tall; (iii) wear long pants, long-sleeve shirt and closed-toe shoes; (iv) if requested by the Promoter, sign liability waivers, releases and/or indemnities in favour of the Promoter and/or any person or other entity associated with this Competition; and (v) comply with all instructions given by the Promoter, the persons organising the V8 Super Challenge or any other person supervising activities at the V8 Super Challenge.   
32.	Failure to comply with any provision of these conditions may result in all or part of the prize being forfeited.
33.	Except as expressly provided by this condition, the prize is not transferable. If the winner is unable to participate in the prize as a result of being unfit or over the weight limit indicated in condition 31, the winner may nominate another person aged 18 years or older to receive the benefit of the prize instead.  The travel component of a prize will be determined by the location of the winner's place of residence, not that of the nominee.
WINNERS 
34.	The major winner will be notified in writing which will be sent by e-mail to the e-mail address indicated in the entry. The notification may include instructions as to how the winner is to claim the prize and establish his/her entitlement to it. 
35.	The name of the major winner will be published in The Australian on Wednesday 4 July  2007.
36.	The name of each prize winner will be published at www.scifitv.com.au within ten days of each prize being won (including in a redraw under condition 37), for a period of at least two weeks. 
37.	Subject, where relevant, to any directions given under the legislation regulating the Competition, if any prize is: (i) not claimed by a winner within 3 months of the draw; or (ii) forfeited for any reason, the prize will be awarded to another Eligible Entrant in a redraw commencing at 3pm on Monday October 16, 2007 at Dialect Solutions, Level 9, 190 George St. Sydney NSW 2000. If there is a redraw, the name of the major winner in the redraw will be published in The Australian on October 30, 2007. 
38.	In order to be entitled to any prize, each winner (and, if he/she wins the Major Prize, the person accompanying the winner on the Major Prize trip) must, if requested by the Promoter, agree to and sign: an eligibility form confirming their compliance with the Conditions and eligibility to accept the prize and/or participate in the prize; and a liability release in favour of the Promoter and/or any person or other entity associated with this Competition. A winner who does not comply with this condition (or does not ensure that the person accompanying them on the Major Prize trip also complies) forfeits their prize.
GENERAL
39.	If for any reason the conduct or operation of the Competition is interfered with or disrupted in any way (including by vandalism, power failures, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes, computer bugs or viruses, tampering or technical failures), the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend or recommence the Competition, subject to the approval of the authorities that have issued permits for its conduct. 
40.	The Promoter assumes no responsibility for: (i) any error, omission, interruption, or delay in the operation or transmission of any communication sent to (or by) the Promoter or any entrant whether caused by problems with communication networks or lines, computer systems, software or internet service providers, congestion on any carrier network or otherwise, (ii) any theft, destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of such communications; (iii) any problem with, or technical malfunction of, any computer system or other equipment used for the conduct of the Competition.
41.	CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO ANY WEBSITE OR THE INFORMATION ON ANY WEBSITE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS PROMOTION OR TO OTHERWISE UNDERMINE THE FAIR AND LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS COMPETITION MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. THE PROMOTER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW IN THE EVENT THAT ANY SUCH AN ATTEMPT IS MADE, WHETHER OR NOT THAT ATTEMPT RESULTS IN ANY SUCH DAMAGE, INTERFERENCE OR UNDERMINING.
42.	All of the Promoter’s decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
43.	The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax liability incurred as a result of an entrant participating in the Competition. Entrants should obtain independent tax and financial advice.
44.	To the full extent permitted by law, the Promoter, its associated companies and agencies and any of their personnel (the "Relevant Parties") exclude all liability for any loss (including any damage, claim, injury, cost or expense) which is suffered or incurred by any Eligible Entrant or any winner's guest on the Major Prize trip in connection with the Competition or prizes, including: (i) any indirect, economic or consequential loss; (ii) any loss arising from the negligence of a Relevant Party; (iii) any liability for personal injury or death.
45.	Each winner and any guest on the Major Prize trip consents to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice (including any photograph, film and/or recording of them) in any media at any time or times without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this Competition, the Promoter and/or any of the Promoter's products. 
46.	Entrants' personal information and that of any winner's guest on the Major Prize trip will be collected by or on behalf of the Promoter to enable it to administer the Competition and publicise its winner(s) and, if an entrant consents, may be used to market its products to the entrant. The personal information of each winner and that of any winner's guest on the Major Prize trip may be provided to others assisting in the conduct of the Competition, including the Competition administrator, prize suppliers and deliverers, and to regulatory authorities. Persons may contact the Promoter by post at Locked Bag 1 Paddington NSW 2021 or by visiting the website www.scifitv.com.au. To request access to, or corrections of, any of their collected personal information that is held by the Promoter. If an entrant does not provide accurate personal information the Promoter may determine that they are not eligible to win a prize.
