The X-Files follows the adventures of FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, investigating cases that seem to involve paranormal activity.

Whilst solving these strange cases, Mulder and Scully also work to uncover forces within the United States' government, shadowy groups behind a massive conspiracy that involves secret pacts and secret knowledge of extra-terrestrial lifeforms.

What gives the show its kick is the frisson between Mulder and Scully - he's a believer in UFO's, she's a hard-headed scientist, but oddly, quite religious. Will their extraordinary adventures bring them closer together - or pull them apart? Whatever happens, Mulder knows it, and so do we - the truth is out there!
