With over 40 hours of Matrix goodness, the local Blu-ray release of everything that's ever been connected to The Matrix in one big box set is great value for money. Of course, the trick is whether the film has stood the test of time, and whether those same sands of time have also smoothed the relationship between fans and the second two movies of the trilogy, Reloaded and Revolutions, which sparked widespread confusion and irritation upon their theatrical release.
"Shave 'em off!"
The cry goes out across Australia as women everywhere demand that husbands, boyfriends and work mates remove the irritating lip fluff they've been nurturing for the duration of Movember.
But some men persist, confident in the knowledge that they are both sexy and virile in the manner of a 70's porn star (say, Ron Jeremy) or in fact a model in a Wranglers tight jeans catalogue direct from 1979.

That's right. On this day, two years ago, SCI FI Channel Australia was born. And of course, the only possible way to celebrate is with style, so we've gone all out - literally, to the edge of your newfangled widescreen TV.
From now on, SCI FI transmits in widescreen. And this week, we've got some great new shows that can take full advantage of that. Set your phaser banks to 'pretty impressed' as we roll out the best Sci Fi ever in the best possible ratio.

The release of the much anticipated feature film follow up to Fight the Future brought about a mixed response from critics, and the general consensus being that the film strayed a little too far away from the 'X' in X-Files with a film that was decidedly rational and not brimming with supernaturalness, or even little grey men.
That said, those X-Files fans known as 'shippers' who watch the show primarily for the relationship between Mulder and Scully came away well satisfied, with a rich emotional journey and some final dotting of 'i's and crossing of 't's between Fox and Dana.
SCI FI will be coming to the little town of Eureka on December 4, so we thought we'd lay out the welcome mat and introduce y'all to the smartest, secretest town on the whole wide Earth!
So, what's Eureka all about? Here's a little info about the show and the characters to get you ready for our big premiere on Thursday December 4 at 8.30pm.
THE MYSTERY OF EUREKA
As World War II came to a close with mushroom clouds over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the impact that science and technology would have on the continued security of our world became catastrophically apparent. America nearly lost the race to build the atomic bomb; it could not risk such a close call again.
Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is the prequel and the third movie in the sexy vampires versus werewolves trilogy. Shot in and around Auckland, NZ, it stars Rhona Mitra as Sonja and Michael Sheen as Lucian. If you've seen the previous two films, Underworld and Underworld: Evolution, starring Kate Beckinsale as Selene, you may be wondering why she's not in this one. The answer is simple - it's a prequel, set several hundred years before the previous films.

There is only one reason, ultimately, why people go to see horror movies. To put them in a place where their pants no longer make any sense. Horror buffs hold out for films that actually scare them, and they wait a long long time before they find one that respects grand horror traditions whilst at the same time bringing something fresh.
This is that movie.
Good news, everybody!
