Look.
Everyone knows that JJ Abrams' reboot of Star Trek is going to be something pretty spesh. No matter how much you hate it. The one little anti-flurry in the slow build up of its hypernado is the back and forth about William Shatner (the original Captain Kirk) and his non-appearance in the film.
Apparently the official line, that he was offered a cameo, and refused, is bogus. According to William Shatner that is.
Here The Shat clears the air and tells the world straight. He also points out what years of Trek will do to a man (or character) - make him entirely unkillable.
As spring gets rather sprung and the welcome weather warms our hearts, SCI FI has yet another stupendous week on offer for fans of all Sci Fi flavour and genre. We've got the end of the world (as per usual), alien abductions, underground monsters, freaky virtual reality and a dinosaurs running amok!
First up this week - don't forget Monday night's episode of The Dresden Files, at 7.30pm. If you've missed the first episodes, remember that you can catch them in full, in great quality, in our online video player, Spectrum, here.
Searching the net, one comes across many cool things.
Often one tries to find good stuff on comics, or movies, or, occasionally horror movies. Luckily, we've stumbled on all three, with an added twist of 'art' for what is definitely a cool trailer but may also turn out to be an awesome movie. Fears of the Dark is recommended by none other than Guillermo Del Toro, and is the work of six of today's finest graphic artists - all on one theme - the nameless dread of the dark.
Look upon the coolness, but beware - creepiness ensues.
Chad goes job hunting!
Chad must use the power of the force to land a decent job, but finds himself unable to hold down employment. Look out for the Chad in the cubicle next to you!
Oh, and if your photocopier seems to have been dismembered by a light sabre - yep. Vader strikes again!
Matt Sloane is the man beneath the mask. The Chad Vader mask.
He is also the voice of Darth Vader in the tremendous new Lucasarts release, The Force Unleashed out September 16. It's an enormous responsibility that requires a special kind of talent, and a special kind of man. Matt Sloane IS that man. We felt it wasn't quite enough to run the full series of Chad Vader to share in the joy - we had to talk to Chad himself.
So here his ladies and gentlemen, the voice of Chad Vader, the voice of Darth Vader, Matt Sloane.
Poor Chad!
Life has gotten a little out of control, and so has our Dark Lord of the Sith, who gets a little tipsy and takes his lameness factor from Code Orange to Code Red.
But, when the worst comes to the worst, there's always a small Ewok of hope.
Cuddle that Ewok, Chad. Cuddle it.

After what seems to have been an eternity, the almost mythical Battlestar Galactica: Razor has finally been released on DVD in Australia.
Was the wait worth it?
Yes it was.
For those Battlestar Galactica fans who for some reason hadn't previously purchased it from Amazon, yes it worth whatever price local retailers are selling it for. Whilst it is a 'standalone' or 'season break' movie (fans of Babylon 5 will instantly recognise the format) it is also an integral part of the BSG canon, forming key moments for the saga that unfolds in the regular TV series.
Dare we say it?
Yes we do!

With Heroes Season 3: Villains just days away from its launch in the US, we managed to snaffle up two of the biggest stars of the show, Milo Ventimiglia and Masi Oka, whilst they were in Australia on a 48 hour whistlestop tour as they took a break between filming the latest season of the Sci Fi blockbuster. And now it's gone live in Spectrum.
Avid readers of Sci Fi Pi will already know that we've seen the first Episode of Season 3, and that all the waiting will be worth it.
This week marks a momentous occasion - the triple episode finale of Jericho, Season Two.
Whatever you do, Jericho fans, don't even THINK about doing anything that involves leaving the house on Thursday night!
It'll be something a little bit special in store, tinged with sadness (for the time being) but laced with hope. Check it out and keep the dream alive.
