Live Stargate Chat 7.30pm Tonight!

CAPTAIN'S BLOG

Tuesday, November 18

by Captain

A quick reminder for all those who love to chat Sci Fi with other people who also love to chat about Sci Fi!

From 7.30pm tonight, Close Encounters (SCI FI's Live Chat Room) will be hosting a chat lead by the Captain.

We'll be watching Stargate: SG1 and Stargate: Atlantis and having a good old natter about the on screen action.

We can also chat about off-screen action - including what's coming up for December on SCI FI - and just how exactly Channel 132 is going to celebrate its second birthday.

With our second birthday looming up, it's all hands on deck behind the scenes for a huge on-air party at SCI FI.

Make sure you tune in on December the 1st for a big surprise!

In the meantime, we've still got some moving and shaking going on at 132 on your dial.

This Tuesday the 18th, get ready for a Mystery Science Theatre 3000 Style evening, starting at 7.35pm!

The lines between the internet and TV will be blurred as we conduct a LIVE CHAT in our Close Encounters Chat Room, watching our Stargate: SG1 and Stargate Atlantis line-up. Get ready to add your judicious comments about SG-1's 'Morpheus' and SGA's 'Aurora'. If you feel like 'branching off' and chatting about other subjects, it's fine - and if you want to keep chatting well into the night - you can! Close Encounters is now fully functional, 26 hours a day.

With our new Live Chat button up and running 24/7 we thought it a good idea to try an organised live chat with a Stargate spin!

That's right - next Tuesday, from 7.35pm on, we'll be holding a 'comment and watch' session that will go as long as you want.

Chip in with hilarious comments, or add your excellent Stargate knowledge to the mix.

Or, if you like, tell us just how awful your Tuesday was. We'll tell you it wasn't so bad.

We'll be watching Stargate: SG1 and Stargate: Atlantis (and maybe even Stargate:SG1 as well) for a full dose of SG goodness - and a way to get in touch with those other cool Sci Fi dudes (and dudettes) tuning in.

November is slowly changing from stubble-vember to Mo-vember in sunny Australia as the last spurt of work between Melbourne Cup day and Christmas keeps us frantically busy until 2009.

The best way to relax in these turbulent times is with a steady and understanding course of Sci Fi - on where else, but SCI FI!

We've got a great week lined up for you - with 7.30pm every night devoted to Gemini Division, our brand new show starring Rosario Dawson. This series is just starting to cook, so make sure you tune if you can. If you can't you can catch every episode online right here at 8pm, and all the previously aired episodes, so you never have to wonder just what the H is going on.

The first week of November sees not one but two gigantic premiere's on SCI FI!

First up, on Monday night, Gemini Division, and then on Wednesday, or new four-show Anime block, Animax!

GEMINI DIVISION - SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE PREMIERE -Starting Monday, November 3 at 7.30pm
Gemini Division, starring Rosario Dawson (Sin City, Death Proof) and Justin Hartley (Smallville), consists of fifty mini-episodes.

Set five minutes in the future, this thrilling live action and animated series follows a New York City homicide detective, Anna Diaz (Rosario Dawson), as she investigates the murder of her fiancé. Anna uncovers an underworld of genetically fabricated life forms and crosses paths with the Gemini Division, a secret government organisation tracking a group of rogue simulants who are hiding among the human population. These simulants bring into question the legitimacy of Anna’s own relationships and being. Based on an original story by Brent Friedman, the series consists of 3-5 minute episodes that will be available across multiple platforms including free streaming on our website. Rosario also assisted in Brent Friedman’s mini-episodes of Afterworld, launched on SCI FI in 2007.

CAPTAIN'S BLOG

This week is yet another huge (and hilarious) week in what is increasingly becoming a heck of a year for SCI FI Australia. We're starting off the run towards Christmas with brand new shows, some classic moments and some never before seen hits that will have you thanking your lucky stars that yes, you do enjoy the odd bit of Sci Fi.

Tuesday night sees the eighties genius of Ghostbusters 2 hit SCI FI. If you've ever wondered why people refer to Bill Murray as a 'comedian' look no further than his deadpan role of Dr Peter Venkman, ladies man and ghost hunter, who, with buddies Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) and Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), must continue the slime-heavy work of ghostbusting in New York City. One of the most oft-quoted film franchises in the Sci Fi pantheon, the sequel to the 1984 classic has New York under seige from ghostly forces - but the Ghostbusters have been sidelined due to legal action! Can intrepid battlers of ectoplasmic evil overcome the forces of bill-by-the-hour darkness? Fingers crossed!

With all the changes going on at SCI FI, and the updates on the website, sometimes a question pops up that you just need to know.

That said, chances are, another SCI FI fan has already asked that question. To check, click on the 'FAQ & Feedback' link on our homepage, all the way down the bottom, next to our sign up link and underneath our Hulk and Iron Man giveaway.

When you click on a link, you'll get a list of our most asked question. All you have to do is type in your query, and if we have the answer, it'll pop up. If you have an original question that hasn't been answered yet, then your new question will be sent through where the team at SCI FI will answer it as soon as they can.
