What's On This Week Feb 22 - 28

The last week of February has us slavering because we know that March, with the upcoming Australian Premiere of Warehouse 13, is just a week away!

Still that doesn't mean that we should just shut ourselves up in a time machine (a.k.a bedroom +Star Trek Online) and wait till the end of February. We've got some televisual goodies sure to please as the height of sunny summer seems to bear down on us.

Friday is a very special Stargate day - not to be missed, and an excellent bit of homework for you if you're planning to attend the Stargate 2010 Convention in Melbourne or Sydney on March 6 and 7. Have you entered the competition for a free double pass yet?

First up, 'Inside 200'. Not surprisingly, it's the documentary look behind Stargate SG-1's 200th Episode. Catch it on Friday, February 26 at 7.30pm. Lots of goofing around and lots of cool sneaky peeks behind the iconic set of Stargate will bring back some happy memories and perhaps give new insights to Stargate fans.

This will of course be followed by a special screening of '200' at 8.30pm.

One of THE most talked about shows in Stargate history, '200' brought back Richard Dean Anderson into a plot that mixed every single plotline, crazy reference and in-joke that SG1 ever created (with a few others thrown in for good measure - isn't that right, Fargate fans?).

So Friday night, book it in - from 7.30pm, go 'Inside' the episode, and then relive the glory - and the laughs, of '200'!

On Sunday at midday and 10:15pm, we've got Godzilla, returning to tear up New York city and our TV screens. It seems sad that giant radioactive lizards and humans can't get along, but it seems destined to always be that way.

Maybe if humans didn't always have some stubborn, missile-happy military types on the frontline of sapien/saurus relations, things would go more smoothly.

This Emmeriched version of Godzilla has some strange and wonderful stuff in it - Jean Reno as an untrustworthy Frenchman (boo! hiss!) Hank Azaria as the world's luckiest cameraman, Matthew Broderick, a giant pile of fish, and some very bold creature design from Patrick Tatopoulos, whom Broderick's character was named after, who went on to direct Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.

It's SCI FI's Sunday night movie - don't miss it!

COLLECTIVE NOUNS

Okay: Everyone loves to hear of a "murder" of crows, or an "exultation" of larks, but what is the collective noun for geeks? Perhaps we should discover it in our postings, yes? A "...." of geeks. A "..." of Sci Fi Fans. A "..." of Stargate Fans. etc and so forth match any show, format, 'flavour' or genre of Sci Fi with the perfect collective noun. Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes!
