How Futuristic Movie Computer Readouts Are Made

Ever Wondered About Those Futuristic Computer Graphics In Sci Fi Movies?

You know, the ones on those semi-transparent computer terminals that just look so unbelievably awesome, yet you search the internet for some kind of representation and you cannot find it anywhere, so you just have to stick with some modding software you got from a website that gives you something that's okay, but not brilliant. You get all angsty, realising you don't have the coolest computer GUI on the planet. You play more Warcraft than is healthy, because this world is no longer pleasing to you.

Or do you just shrug your shoulders and stick with green grass and blue sky and XP?

Well, we've found where the cool kind of readouts that you see in Minority Report, Tomb Raider, The Island, Children of Men and Deja Vu come from.

It's one guy. Mark Coleran. That's his job, making futuristic computer displays for movies that look awesome. He designs them just for movies, not for everyday, and they're just animations, and don't actually work in real life.

So be at peace. Let it go.

Be happy with that Barack Obama with a lightsabre wallpaper that you made. It looks great. Sure it does...

Here's the kind of things cyber-perfectionists wish were real - share the pain of envy:
