The first week of November sees not one but two gigantic premiere's on SCI FI!

First up, on Monday night, Gemini Division, and then on Wednesday, or new four-show Anime block, Animax!


GEMINI DIVISION - SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE PREMIERE -Starting Monday, November 3 at 7.30pm
Gemini Division, starring Rosario Dawson (Sin City, Death Proof) and Justin Hartley (Smallville), consists of fifty mini-episodes.

Set five minutes in the future, this thrilling live action and animated series follows a New York City homicide detective, Anna Diaz (Rosario Dawson), as she investigates the murder of her fiancé. Anna uncovers an underworld of genetically fabricated life forms and crosses paths with the Gemini Division, a secret government organisation tracking a group of rogue simulants who are hiding among the human population. These simulants bring into question the legitimacy of Anna’s own relationships and being. Based on an original story by Brent Friedman, the series consists of 3-5 minute episodes that will be available across multiple platforms including free streaming on our website. Rosario also assisted in Brent Friedman’s mini-episodes of Afterworld, launched on SCI FI in 2007.


ANIMAX - Wednesdays from 10.20pm

SCI FI features Anime classics in the all new block, ANIMAX. For the first time on SCI FI, don’t miss four back-to-back episodes of Anime hits.

10.20pm - GHOST IN THE SHELL
The television series based on Masamune Shirow's Manga and Mamoru Oshii's highly influential film, Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex takes viewers to a futuristic society where
technology has saturated citizens daily lives.

10.45pm – Cowboy Bebop
In the year 2071 AD, the crew of the spaceship Bebop travel the solar system trying to apprehend bounties. Nation-states have collapsed, and various races and peoples live throughout the solar system. In the slang of the era, "Cowboys" are bounty hunters.

11.10pm - BLACK LAGOON
Rokuro Okajima is a meek, mundane and metropolitan man on a business trip to South East Asia. But things quickly go from pleasure cruise to festival of pain when modern day pirates board the ship and take him hostage!

11.35pm – BLOOD+
After Saya meets Hagi, Saya rediscovers her past and embraces her role in battling the onslaught of chiropteran vampires that has plagued Japan for centuries. Set to music produced by Hans Zimmer, Blood+ is based on Blood: The Last Vampire, one of the best-selling Anime of all time in the United States.

Animax - from Wednesday, November 5, Encore screenings on Saturdays from 9am.
