With our second birthday looming up, it's all hands on deck behind the scenes for a huge on-air party at SCI FI.
Make sure you tune in on December the 1st for a big surprise!
In the meantime, we've still got some moving and shaking going on at 132 on your dial.
This Tuesday the 18th, get ready for a Mystery Science Theatre 3000 Style evening, starting at 7.35pm!
The lines between the internet and TV will be blurred as we conduct a LIVE CHAT in our Close Encounters Chat Room, watching our Stargate: SG1 and Stargate Atlantis line-up. Get ready to add your judicious comments about SG-1's 'Morpheus' and SGA's 'Aurora'. If you feel like 'branching off' and chatting about other subjects, it's fine - and if you want to keep chatting well into the night - you can! Close Encounters is now fully functional, 26 hours a day.
So make sure you turn on Channel 132 and have your laptop handy - as The Captain takes you on a journey beyond Wormhole X-Treme.
Wednesday night sees our new Animax block continue. So far it's been exponentially popular - seems like everyone's finding out just how entertaining really good Anime can be - and these really are some of the best ever made. Catch it all from 10.20pm on the 19th as Ghost In The Shell leads Cowboy Bebop, Black Lagoon and Blood Plus. It's a treasure trove of animated Sci Fi.
With all these new shows on SCI FI, it's important not to neglect a few old faves - in particular, on Thursday night, The Outer Limits.
The Outer Limits has a huge fanbase all over the world. Some of the most interesting Sci Fi ideas have been culled from the golden age of Sci Fi and filmed in these mini-films that often do stretch the mind and the boundaries of Sci Fi. This week's episode is 'Stranded' about a young boy and his relationship with an alien who crash lands and is stuck on earth - who tries to form the bond that the boy and his father do not have - but there's something a little bit more going on. Sci Fi with a clever twist? Yes? Let's do it!
Make sure you check out The Outer Limits, Thursday the 20th, at 10.45pm.
Sunday's movie of the week has a lavish touch - it's Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula!
Sumptuous production design, impossibly gorgeous Vampirellas (including, don't you know, the at the time 'not quite famous' Monica Bellucci) it's a rollicking tale that has transformed from blockbuster hit to cult classic, with Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder, Gary Oldman and Sir Anthony Hopkins chewing up the scenery (just because it tastes so good!). Do yourself a favour and dive into Bram Stoker's magical tale again, or, if you're lucky, for the very first time!
Bram Stoker's Dracula 10.50pm, Sunday the 22nd.
