Get Into The Spirit Of Things

AT THE MOVIES

Monday, November 10

by Captain

Hard to believe that a 40's something comic could somehow be translated to present day filmed entertainment - and it seems that the rather tenuous response to The Spirit's previous trailers has seemed to bear out just how huge a leap that can be.

But if anyone can do it, Frank Miller can.

The legendary comic-meister turned film director has gone from his good work with Sin City and 300 and taking us somewhere a little bit old, a little bit sexy, and with a nice tie.

Have a look at these pics and start to feel good about The Spirit again.

It's coming out on Boxing Day, and whilst it hasn't quite had the uber-hype that Watchmen has, it may just surprise us all.

We've got a nice selection of poster art and some key stills for you to get back into the truly two dimensional, two colour (well, maybe three) world of Frank Miller.

Old School.

Frank Miller Style.

The phrase to reverberate around schoolyards this summer.

Gabriel Macht plays The Spirit, a detective who's already dead.

Samuel L Jackson plays bad guy The Octopus.

Scarlett Johansson looking scrummy as Silken Floss.

Eva Mendes as bad girl Sand Saref.

Red Tie sales to soar by Christmas. Weird stick on eyemasks not so much. Or maybe...

FORUM

THE NEUTRAL ZONE

In response to some extraordinary 'breakthroughs' in forum 'sharing and caring' discussions in other threads, we're now opening 'THE NEUTRAL ZONE', a safe place where people can discuss 'off topic' issues, reveal secrets, share their fears and concerns, reveal long hidden parts of themselves in a non-judgemental environment. There is no 'topic' here, no judgement. All posters will interact in a way to encourage and embrace, so if you've got a deep dark secret, a long-held regret or a constant fear that haunts you, post here, and feel better. It's our version of 'Post Secret', if you will - but with feedback!
