The release of the much anticipated feature film follow up to Fight the Future brought about a mixed response from critics, and the general consensus being that the film strayed a little too far away from the 'X' in X-Files with a film that was decidedly rational and not brimming with supernaturalness, or even little grey men.
That said, those X-Files fans known as 'shippers' who watch the show primarily for the relationship between Mulder and Scully came away well satisfied, with a rich emotional journey and some final dotting of 'i's and crossing of 't's between Fox and Dana.

Happy Birthday SCI FI!

THE MYSTERY OF EUREKA
As World War II came to a close with mushroom clouds over Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the impact that science and technology would have on the continued security of our world became catastrophically apparent. America nearly lost the race to build the atomic bomb; it could not risk such a close call again.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is the prequel and the third movie in the sexy vampires versus werewolves trilogy. Shot in and around Auckland, NZ, it stars Rhona Mitra as Sonja and Michael Sheen as Lucian. If you've seen the previous two films, Underworld and Underworld: Evolution, starring Kate Beckinsale as Selene, you may be wondering why she's not in this one. The answer is simple - it's a prequel, set several hundred years before the previous films.

There is only one reason, ultimately, why people go to see horror movies. To put them in a place where their pants no longer make any sense. Horror buffs hold out for films that actually scare them, and they wait a long long time before they find one that respects grand horror traditions whilst at the same time bringing something fresh.
This is that movie.

Good news, everybody!
Our technomages have re-aligned all possible coils and have also re-initialised the power converters to give us all a really cool new feature on our Live Chat, Close Encounters.
As you can see in the Navbar, we have a little button next to the word 'CHAT' this is in fact an 'occupied' or 'on' button which glows with a delightful shade of Sci Fi Purple whenever someone is in the Chat Room. When no one is ready for a chat, then it will be at it's rest colour, which is a classic Alien Grey.

And you know what? We've picked up a few gems!
You'll be amazed who was there, and what they said. Take a look right now in Spectrum!

Close Encounters will be filled to the brim with SCI FI fans chatting about what's on right now, and what's going to be on right this December, on Wednesday the 26th, from 8.30pm.
We've put the time back to allow people time to have dinner (and even put the kids to bed) so they can then settle in to a night in front of Channel 132 with a warm laptop and perhaps a cool and refreshing beverage.
We've got a great line-up to chat about - Jericho is back on the air - and it all kicks off this Wednesday night with The Pilot. Which is boss to the extreme, for those who haven't yet seen it.

Just click on Videos in our Navbar to get Spectrum, and then follow the links to Watchmen. Easy Peasy.

PS3
One of the major titles for the original PS3 rollout was the humans verse ugly mutants first person shooter, Resistance: Fall of Man. Whilst not quite Halo on the PS3, still a very well respected title with great graphics, an intriguing story, good multi-player and pretty frenetic (and often rather scary) gameplay.
So what do we get with the sequel?
First up, surprisingly, is the leap in graphics quality. The last one was good, this is just nuts. Little touches to gameplay make a large amount of difference.
