This week is yet another huge (and hilarious) week in what is increasingly becoming a heck of a year for SCI FI Australia. We're starting off the run towards Christmas with brand new shows, some classic moments and some never before seen hits that will have you thanking your lucky stars that yes, you do enjoy the odd bit of Sci Fi.

Tuesday night sees the eighties genius of Ghostbusters 2 hit SCI FI. If you've ever wondered why people refer to Bill Murray as a 'comedian' look no further than his deadpan role of Dr Peter Venkman, ladies man and ghost hunter, who, with buddies Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) and Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), must continue the slime-heavy work of ghostbusting in New York City. One of the most oft-quoted film franchises in the Sci Fi pantheon, the sequel to the 1984 classic has New York under seige from ghostly forces - but the Ghostbusters have been sidelined due to legal action! Can intrepid battlers of ectoplasmic evil overcome the forces of bill-by-the-hour darkness? Fingers crossed!

Make sure you catch Ghostbusters 2, Tuesday, October 28 at 10:20pm.

Also on Tuesday at 2.40pm, the final episode in our lunchtime X-Files Triple Treat, make sure you catch Dreamland, Part 1, the classic X-Files episode where Mulder switches bodies with a Man in Black (Michale McKean having a whale of a time as Morris Fletcher) from Area 51. One of the truly hilarious X-Files episodes, with plenty of in-jokes for the fans.

Thursday night at 6.30pm, Star Trek: Voyager has plenty of humour of its own, with the episode 'Revulsion', famous for the rather awkward run in of the young and impressionable Harry Kim with the devastatingly beautiful new Borg crewmember, 7 of 9. You have to see it to believe it - every Sci Fi Geek's fantasy and real Star Trek belly laughs. "Don't be alarmed, take off your clothes".

Sunday November the 2nd gets a fantastic morning marathon of Stargate: Atlantis! It's the perfect way to start the day - curl up in your pj's from 9am until 12.30pm for four back to back classics from the Pegasus galaxy.

A quick break for lunch, and then it's time for Mystery Science Theatre 3000!

This is one of the most beloved shows in all of Sci Fi - a man and his two robots of forced by evil scientists to sit through the worst movies ever made. Hardcore fans know it as MST3K - but everyone who has seen it loves this juxtaposition of truly awful Sci Fi and genre movies with witty smart mouth commentary and the occasional sketch. Running from 1988 to 1999, the show is one of the true gems of Sci Fi and an absolute must see. This is the movie of the series, featuring the truly astonishingly awful, This Island Earth.

Must see Mystery Science Theatre 3000, Sunday, November 2, 12.30pm and 10.50pm.
