All the Sci Fi and Fantasy movieness that fits the print this Wednesday, right here, right now.
Marc Caro goes out on his own, Trek gets more images, the Clone Wars are close, JJ Abrams shakes the world and Hollywood starts the remake machine on the oldest stories of all.
Trek Your Computer NowThe Star Trek Movie has released more images to go with those released at Comic Con (including John Cho as Sulu and Anton Yelchin as Chekov) and they're now available for download from the official site. You can also get the crew (and baddies) as icons. Just perfect for keeping the hype alive for the next nine months! And 05 08 09 is actually the 8th of May, not the 5th of April, in the Americanised dating system - so no, it hasn't been pushed back again. Good news for fans of director JJ.Abrams, who is now reported working on an earthquake-based film. Has not been pinged yet as the sequel to Cloverfield.

It has been announced that Zak Penn (X-Men) will be writing the script for the Argonauts, based on the classic Jason and the Argonauts. Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk) will be directing a remake of Clash of the Titans, and is said to be working on a sequel to 300. Brett Ratner is working on a movie based on the video game, God of War, which has a warrior Kratos take on the gods and monsters of the Greek myths and Peter Berg will direct Hercules: The Thracian Wars. There have been two other Hercules projects announced, a Theseus project and another Argonauts film. Who will emerge victorious? Find out in 2011!
The Clone Wars Will Sound... DifferentThe only actors returning to voice their corresponding characters are Samuel L. Jackson (Mace Windu), Christopher Lee (Count Dooku), and Anthony Daniels (C-3P0). Everyone else will be soundalikes. George Lucas has obviously laid out the framework for The Clone Wars as the 100 episode TV series it really is, costs and big Hollywood star schedules included. The action-heavy, kid-friendly series does get its big screen kick off this week, however, with (hopefully, possibly, fingers crossed) Midnight Madness screenings. We'll keep you posted. Our review coming soon!
Marc Caro Makes First Film As Solo Director - And It's Sci FiOne half of the directing team behind The City of Lost Children and Delicatessen (no, not Jean-Pierre Jenet - he did Alien:Resurrection in 1997, it's the other one, Marc Caro) has gone off on his own and made a Sci Fi thriller of his own. It's called Dante 01, and will be releasing on DVD in the US in September. Looks interesting for those who like their space-based Sci Fi with a French twist, but also looks to contain several other films we may or may not have seen. Check out the trailer to see which ones! No news yet on Oz release.
