William Shatner's Rocketman

by Captain

Some of our SCI FI fans may not have seen this already, and for those who have, you really don't need much convincing to see it again.

William Shatner remains an icon not just of Sci Fi, but of popular culture. At the 1978 Saturn Awards, he blended his singular vocal stylings with the words and music of Bernie Taupin and Mr Elton John.

The results speak for themselves. It is simultaneously the most ridiculous thing that has ever existed and, obviously, the coolest thing that has ever been done. Sit back, relax and enjoy - William Shatner's version of 'Rocketman'.

If you miss The Shat and his alien shenanigans - make sure you tune into Star Trek, The Original Series, on SCI FI! Click here for the next episode.
