With Destination Truth bringing a very new flavour to SCI FI on Sunday nights, it's time to stop and consider what the show is all about, if you haven't already caught it.
In a sense, it's a reality show X-Files, with adventurer Josh Gates travelling all over the world (say, for example, Papua New Guinea) to discover the truth behind local legendary creatures, myths and superstitions. It's a fascinating insight into the way that the world of the supernatural is created in the human psyche, and mixed with some gung ho 'I want to believe' action from Josh and his team, is a lot of fun. Blurring the line between fact and fiction has never been so compelling. Make sure you take time out for Josh, on Sundays at 6.40pm.
For all of you calling, nay, screaming for more seasons of your favourite shows, this week sees a delightful premiere for Charmed fans. Season Seven will explode through the SCI FI screens every Wednesday night until all evil is vanquished or a cliffhanger can occur. Join up with the Halliwell sisters and find out just why Charmed has so many loyal fans.(It's because it's 'charming'- er hur hur).
Fans of Battlestar Galactica also better strap themselves in this Wednesday night for one of the biggest BSG episodes, ever. The Pegasus and the Galactica are teaming up against the Cylons in a massive secret strike. Full on war, with some outrageous space battle sequences and some brain jolting twists will have your brain smoking. When they say BSG is the best thing on television, Resurrection Ship Part 2, is the reason why.
Battlestar Galactica - you owe it to yourself to check it out, Wednesday 10.30pm.
In yet another SCI FI premiere, this week's movie of the week is an absolute stunner. Jacob's Ladder, directed by, of all people, Adrian Lyne, who rose to fame with his raunchy Nine and a Half Weeks, is a brilliant psychological fantasy starring Tim Robbins. There's also a very young Macauley Culkin and an hirsute Jason Alexander, as well as Danny Aiello as an angelic chiropractor. If you've not seen it, take the time to discover one of the truly great movies, that explores the very nature of man's soul and does it in a way that will, perhaps, give you the odd nightmare or two. Some truly confronting imagery, but some profound insights make this a movie to remember, and a movie you should set aside quality couchtime for.
Jacob's Ladder screens on Saturday, April 19 at 1.30pm, 11pm and Sunday, April 20 at 12.30pm

Serving Aboard The Pegasus
This week's episode sees the Galactica meet up with The Pegasus. One of toughest episodes in the BSG canon has Michelle Forbes dishing out uncompromising discipline.
Would you follow orders, no matter how wrong or harsh? Would you mutiny, or not? Or could you shoot someone if you were ordered to?
