Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as Douglas Quaid, knockabout construction worker of the future. He's got a great life, a great wife (Sharon Stone) and a hankering - to go to Mars.

But Mars is expensive, so why not have the virtual tour and go to Rekall, where you can have the memories of your perfect holiday installed into your brain?

But what happens when your dream holiday of venturing to Mars (as a secret agent) goes horribly horribly wrong, because, er, you already are a secret agent? What about that, huh!

Or are you just dreaming it?

One of the most successful translations of the brain-blending work of Phillip K. Dick gets given the ultra-harsh action treatment by messrs Paul Verhoeven (Robocop) and the aforesaid Schwarzenegger.

This is one of the true popcorn munching crowd-wowing blockbusters of Sci Fi. Everyone loves this movie.

And what's not to love? Crazy mutants, alien civilizations buried in the dawn of time, triple-breasted mutants, conspiracy theories and of course the delightfully intangible question - is it all just in your head?

As Doug Quaid says to himself - "get yo ass to maahs!"
