SCI FI PI

Whilst the music of Battlestar Galactica has always been some of the most emotional and often startling in Sci FI (say, for example, the solo drum and voice track from the original miniseries) this all seems like nothing compared to the reaction that we get from the piano piece that will be playing in Season 2's first episodes.

If you're not sure which particular haunting piece of piano playing we're talking about, check out the BSG S2 trailer on SCI FI's home page.

Well, what the hell is it?

The music is, not surprisingly, by one of the world's greatest contemporary composers, Philip Glass. It's called Metamorphosis (in particular Metamorphosis Part 1) and is from his Solo Piano album, released way back in 1989.

So if you can't get enough of it and need it for constant iPod goodness, it's merely a click or two away at Amazon. If you want to hear it in perfect SCI FI context, make sure you're tuned in to the rip-roaring return of BSG - Wednesday night, 10.30pm!
