The end of 2007 and the beginning of 2008 – quite the momentous time here at the Sci Fi Channel Website. Luckily there’s plenty of good things on air as we dodge champagne corks and confetti. We’re also continuing the Star Trek Movie Marathon.

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country takes you to er, the undiscovered country of 2008, as it screens on the 31st at 10.35pm and finishes at 12.30pm. We’ve scheduled an ad-break (probably!) to coincide with midnight for a quick hurrah, kiss and sip of champagne. For those who are actually invited to a party (lucky ducks!) you can watch it in the morning at 11am.

Jan 1 sees Star Trek: Generations on at 11am and 10.35 pm, handing the Star Trek Movie torch from James T Kirk over to Jean-Luc Picard and Jan 2 has Star Trek: Insurrection, hopefully we’ll be screening First Contact (the best!) soon in a special presentation.

This week also sees the return of Buffy (from the dead) in Buffy: The Vampire Slayer Series 5, and on Jan 3, at 11am and 10.35pm, we have a special screening of The Lost Boys, a terrific Joel Schumacher vampire flick starring Keifer Sutherland. It boasts the best vampire movie quote of all time - “You're a vampire Michael! My own brother, a goddamn, shit-sucking vampire. You wait 'till mom finds out, buddy!” . Terrific fun and not to be missed.

If it’s raining on Saturday the 5th, make sure you settle down with a bucket of popcorn (always a healthy lunch!) at 1.30pm for our screening of ET: The Extra Terrestrial. Bring hankies as well for a good cry, as the movie tugs at your heart strings and you realise that holidays will soon be over.
