Star Trek: The Movie Casting Checklist

NEWS

Sunday, December 2

by Captain

Christmas comes but once a year, but for Star Trek Fans, Christmas will only ever really come on Dec 25, 2008, when JJ Abram’s re-vision of Star Trek releases on cinema screens. If you haven’t memorised and visualized the who’s who of who’s who, here’s the Channel 132’s Checklist.

NOTE : SINCE WE POSTED, THE FILM HAS BEEN POSTPONED TILL MAY OF 2009. Hopefully it only means marketing mucking about, rather than trouble with the production. Probably will give them even more time to loving recreate the Enterprise.

Anyway, here's the cast!

Captain Kirk: Chris Pine (big shoes to fill)

Spock : Zachary Quinto (continuing the great Star Trek tradition of actor names that sound like they’re from the 23rd century).

Amanda Grayson (Spock’s Mum): Winona Ryder. (will she teach young Spock not to shoplift?)

Sulu: John Cho (where’s Kumar?)

Scotty: Simon Pegg (whilst he’s built a reputation on spoofing movies, you just know this is the greatest ever moment of his life)

Dr McCoy: Karl Urban (“that’s just a phaser burn bro”)

Uhura: Zoe Saldana (scary in Pirates of the Caribbean: Black Pearl, hopefully fan dancing in this one)

Nero (the Villain): Eric Bana (Ricardo Montalban did it, so can you, Eric)

Anton Yelchin : Checkov (just say “wessells” over and over again, immortality assured)

Clifton Collins Jr: Ayel (Collins has the acting chops to make this special)

for gods sake - get some imagination - stretch yourself - show some balls and have ago - create a new idea - dont just ride on th back of those that went before you loosers

I grew up on the original series, and then loved next gen, DS9 and Voyager...not that keen on Enterprise though. But the new movie will be one for the collection, good, bad, or ugly.

If it's not broken, don't fix it. All true Trekkies are devotees of the original series. Some of the episodes were't crash hot but it was in its infancy. No one thought that the Next Generation would be accepted
